Sound Mind Wellness for Survivors
A Sanctuary of Sound, Movement & Healing for Survivors of Domestic Violence
At all our Sound Mind Wellness outposts and Maschil Edwards, we believe every survivor deserves a space to reclaim their voice, body, and peace. Our trauma-informed yoga, sound healing, and mindset programs offer survivors a safe, nurturing environment to heal, rebuild, and thrive.

For years, SMW and Maschil have supported survivors of domestic violence (DV) and sexual assault (SA) through private mentorship, workshops, and group programs that restore safety, balance, and inner strength. This commitment extends across every SMW sanctuary: from Hawai‘i to Las Vegas, to Miami and soon California as well as through Maschil’s private mentorship and events.]
Conscious California Sound Mind Wellness (CCSMW) is more than our next location. It is a deeply personal chapter in our mission to serve survivors, led by our founder, Maschil Edwards.
As a survivor herself, Maschil has supported others since the earliest days of Sound Mind Wellness. Before there were physical locations, she guided survivors through mentorship, workshops, and community events, beginning in Hawai‘i and later expanding to every SMW hub.
California carries special meaning for Maschil. She once had to leave the state during her own healing, returning only when she felt safe and deeply rooted in her work. That time allowed her to refine her approach and serve survivors more deeply. CCSMW now stands as the culmination of that experience — a flagship hub for survivor-centered programs and resources, serving as a model for expanded programming across all SMW locations.
CCSMW: The Latest Addition to a Legacy of Support
Actively Serving & Training (YWCA San Jose)
Maschil Edwards has completed the 75 hour Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking Advocate Certification and is actively volunteering with the YWCA Golden State Silicon Valley in San Jose California.
This hands-on work informs our care plans and keeps our support aligned with current California standards.
Emergency organizations save lives with hotlines, shelter, legal advocacy, and medical care.
Our role begins after safety and also alongside uncertainty. We provide crisis coping and stabilization that is non-emergency, then we walk with you into long-term healing and empowerment.
We help you ground, plan next steps, and rebuild at your pace.
